Barely. I use multiple monitors for leading a band. I was barley able to pull it off the last time I lead worship. This venue was in the shade on a bright sunny day. In my application, we're reading the "power point" type slides off the monitor at about 3-5 feet. These are 1"-2" letters in a high visibility font. had i not known the songs ahead of time, it would have been a disaster. I could only read the text about 95% of the time and BARLEY - I hope this gives you a little more reference. (my laptop is a 17" screened Dell Inspiron 9200. Not the best screen - but close) - I heard toshiba is putting out a 21" screened laptop!)

Yes you can see most laptops in the daylight, if you can not then this is fixable, right click on your desktop go to properties and modify your brightness settings, or just put the laptop in the shade.

It depends on the quality of the computer. On a Mac, you'd see with a flood light on it!
a lot of others might not get you the best screen so it all depends on the brand, and then the model of that brand.

Yes. You might need a filter over the screen. They are easily available.

Not well if the sun is directly on the screen, but there are inexpensive filters and shades you can get to help with it that work pretty well.

yes you will be able to see the screen, you can tilt it and adjust it. I use mine outside all the time, just not in the rain. ;-)

yes, and if you can't you can always tilt the screen up or down until you can see it.
A little squinting may be in order for cheaper models.
