I haven't had an open marriage and don't ever intend to have an open marriage or relationship. Why? because it just doesn't work. People get jealous. It's inevitable. Sometimes people fall in love with the occasional lover.. who knows, but it's a recipe for disaster.

we have been married 10 years. neither of us have any kids.
and it works just fine. but HONESTY and COMMUNICATION are the keys. you have to be honest with yourself and honest with each other. NO bullshit. no "i thought you said" and no "oh, i thought you meant". you either have to agree that @ times each of you will agree to a compromise OR that there will NEVER be a compromise. you can't set a rule and bend it this time for one party because its convenient. but not bend maybe a different rule for the other party @ a time less convenient for you.
as it turn out we made the decision while we were dating. we dated for 1.5 yrs. and i am VERY happy with it.
i look @ it like this.... NOT all men cheat this is true. maybe NOT even half, BUT,you'd be surprised to find out the ones who do... think about it. this takes that problem away. he ain't gotta lie to me or to her. she KNOWs he ain't leaving home and he AIN'T 'her man'. okay, okay i'm sharing him with her BUT he is sharing me with HER too. clinton & kennedy weren't discreet. you don't think hillary & jackie knew their men BEFORE they agreed to become their wives!!???
if done with discretion you can have an open relationship and NOONE would know. there are more open relationships than people realize. heck, just like there are biker clubs guess what there are also swing clubs and they do quite well. jessica

technically, my husband and I have an open marriage. He can sleep with whomever he wants, as long as he gets my approval first, and the same goes for me!
The trick is, we both know we would never approve, no matter who the person is! but technically we agree to an open marriage. Love him to death and glad he can see the humor and reality in it all!

I have known about 5 couples that gave this a try...they all divorced within a years time....if you want other ppl then get divorced.

my wife and i have been married for 20 years and have an open marriage the whole time.....because thats what she wanted.
i enjoy watching her with other men....and she also enjoys watching me with other women......we wouldnt change a thing.

I did, my first hubby didn't like regular sex so he let me play with whomever I wanted. We ended up still getting a divorce however. Best wishes

I knew someone who did and they recently renewed there vows but it was wierd because instead of dating men on the side she dated a female and I never understood it. but the knew and it worked for them. so to each his own.
