my grandson lives with his mother and other siblings and is very intelligent a normal good kid. he is 12 years old and a grandma baby. he is hanging with a couple of girls three years older and he has a new mood swing i have asked him if everything is ok or would he like to talk to me alone he just say he's ok and to let him grow up on his own. is there reason to worry?

could be a number of reasons...

1. drugs
2. mixed up with the wrong crowd
3. trouble at home
4. being bullied
5. and more

best thing to do is try to talk to him ...see if he will open up to you...if not you then someone else...there is obviously something bothering him...so take whatever help u can get...school counseler...best friend...family member!

Yes, and probably for the very reasons you are thinking. He is obviously up to no good and is in some kind of trouble. He needs to be taken away form those girls ASAP. He is 12--he has no rights. He needs his mom and you to step in and do the right thing. Yes, he'll hate it, but he will get over it. The sooner the better! Good luck to you all.

He is probably being bullied or made fun of.
