the age of enlightenment or immediately after that is the historic period that seems to encompass most of these works....the late baroque and into the napoleonic era....ingres was a favorite of that time and did much to enhance the image of post-revolutionary france in a neo-classical ,realist vein!!!!hogarth being from a different country(england) was more of a social commentator...the general wolfe painting would fall into a reckoning with british colonial art by it's subject matter....watteau exhibits the fluff and psuedo-pastoral affectations of the french royal period of louis the fifteenth in it's want of substance and decadence!!!!

I know that The Death of General Wolfe is Romantism, anything by Ingres is probably Neo-Classism
