This is what the neighbors of Iran are doing:
May 11, 2006
The month of May is usually very, very hot in the plains of India and by a combination of complex causal factors that include design and coincidence, this is a month that is deeply associated with the country's nuclear narrative.
May 11, 1998 marks the first Pokhran II nuclear test that saw India declaring itself as a de facto Nuclear Weapon State during the early months of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government. This was followed by another test on May 13 and the world had a sixth Nuclear Weapon State.
Pakistan followed with its nuclear tests in end May 1998 and the strategic profile of South Asia was definitively transformed.
These countries do not traditionally get along. Bush went to India in March 2006 to influence the countries development program. The US has no influence in Iran.

Yes...and no. The nuclear problem can't be resolved. Under no circumstance will we be able to prevent them from developing a nuclear weapon. It is going to happen. Worse yet many other countries will develope nuclear weapons within the next 50 years.
Peace is not possible as humans by nature exist in conflict. Either all humans have to die or a greater power will need to step in. Since conflict is inevitable the best we can do is shield ourselves.
What we can do is defend. We need to increase the potency of our missle defense system as well as assist allies in developing their own defensive systems. We need to increase our tracking capability to prevent suitcase nukes. Lastly we need to play dirty and sabotage the weapons of all non-friendly states so that they self-destruct if used.

HELLO.............hello.................hello
anyone home in there?
Appropriate way to solve problems of any kind in Iran????????
Our energies would be best served to solve the problems in our own country FIRST!!
How about Gas? Oil? Poverty? Education?
If we take care of ourselves FIRST, and are successful, we will then be able to assist others. This is a country of a totally different mind set in more ways then one.
Donate your time and money to our children, help them to grow and concentrate on your own human condition!

They were under obligation to to destroy their nuclear armaments as per agreemenht but they never did. That was most fair and gracious way, but it failed. The only obvious answer is to go in and take them by force, which I don't think we need to do. It would simply extend the war.

There probably is. The problem is coming to a compromise. One side must sacrifice one thing in order to get to the compromise. It also takes trust. The party that is willing to sacrifice must trust the other side to hold truth to their word. However, government officials are very reluctant to trusting leaders of other countries (i.e. Could you trust the leader of Iran to stand true to his word?)

It's not our concern. We don't own Iran, we don't belong in their business. Even if they do want to build nuclear weapons. So what? We have them. If we're going to tell the restof the world that they can't have them, then we should disarm ours.
