I am running windows XP and have a creative live 24 bit sound card. The system is connected to an altec lansing surround sound system with 5 speakers. I am running an aftermarket mic, when i first started using it it didn't have any feedback, then out of no where I get a huge buzzzzzzzz all the time.

I have muted the mic, it seems that the only thing that helps a little is to touch the back panel of the computer, but that just makes it not quite as loud in the play back. As I am recording info and then playing it back using creative wave studio.

Another way that may work is go into your control panel, then into sound options, From there mute your microphone. It will still work but you will not hear what's going in and probably not the buzz.

in time-honored microphone and audio device the comments is from the microphone being to close the the audio device or the quantity is to extreme because of the closeness of the two products i don't understand if which will help the microphone on my pc is on the best and the audio device are on the components. I by no ability had problems.

If your mic is too close to the speakers or phone it will cause feedback...bring your mic close to them to check if the feedback gets worse.

check the connection pin going into the pc it may be loose, if not try increasing the distance btn the mic and speaker, speaker may cause interference. :)
