Insufficient pace in the squad especially on a hot day. It also needs guaranteed midfield control and always being able to win the ball from these situations. Something they haven't shown too much of an ability to do, so far. 4 5 1 has produced a more controlled performance so lifts the belief a little and there is always the possibility to switch back to the beloved 4 4 2 system without disrupting the spread of the squad, should a different attack style be required.

Consistent improvement in performance has been the noticable change in the squad as they have played more mathces together, a little more confidence in each other and they will be a bastard of a squad to beat.

COME ON ENGLAND

CRUSH THE CRITICS AND GET BEHIND OUR BOYS

first they need to find 3 capable strikers. And no, gerrard, lampard and joe cole are not strikers, they are better off playing in midfield. Tbh, I would rather at least 4 in midfield (gerrard, lampard, cole, beckham) and then carrick played well so 5 could be a good option. I also think that walcott isn't yet good enough to play and obviously sven feels the same. At best, 4-4-2 would work but 4-3-3 is pushing it with the number of strikers in the england squad, especially now that owen is out!

There is NO CHANCE Sven would play this system
He is too defensive and dull
He really is Englands weak link And it is a pity coz they have some great players, but Sven does not play too his players strengths, and they will (do) suffer from his approach.
You really will never win the World Cup with Sven

Okay... Get your head out of the clouds!

There's NO way England are going to win.

The main reason for this is: By LUCK they won in1966.... That was 40 YEARS ago and they still haven't shut up about it! Do you really think any country will allow them to win again for God's sake!

This leaves you open to a quick counterattack. Does England have the speed to get back in time?

So your question is...
And you *know* England isn't exactly the best team ever possible out there. They're great, but not the best they could ever be.
