Yes, there are real men that knit. Check out the magazine "Knit.1" published by Vogue. They did an entire issue (I think it was May) on guys that knit (yes heteorsexual).

Oddly my husband knows how to knit on the needles and I just absolutely cannot knit on the needles (I'm left handed so I would have to go backwards) I knit on the looms. He learned from his great grandmother living with her when he was a child. He chooses to not knit though lol.

Knitting was invented by men, because they were the shepherds and had the sheep. Also, fire fighters used to knit inbetween fires. They are definitely real men.

yes they do actually.
Some anyway.
It is sometimes used as a practice learning tool. It promotes patience, concentration, coordination, and relaxation among other benefits.
It may seem funny to see a "macho" man knitting like a little old granny but the health benefits of it are incredible and you get something to show for it .. like a cute scarf or sweater :)

They certainly do. Knitting was at one point a strictly male vocation, with guilds and apprenticeships and all that hierarchical goodness. I have been tempted to teach my boyfriend to knit, but I have no intention on sharing my knitting stash =)

Some high stress athletes knit, to relieve the tension (no pun intended)
Maybe the answerer "strawberries" should start knitting, then she wouldn't have time for stupid answers.

Not all women knit; therefore, it's kind of odd that a heterosexual guy would knit.
