The Cubs and Dodgers are the only 2 teams I know of that sit in the 3rd base side. Do you know why?

In wriggley field it was the first that was built....The first base "dugout" was just a bench. The home team really got advantage....The Sun could also be the cause. But at historic Wrigley Field the 3rd Base dugout was the the first dugout to be built.

Most is true about these answers, except the Atlanta Braves do not sit in the third base dugout as someone has stated. They sit on the first base side.

because the sun wont be in their eyes when it sets...its their home park. white sox sit in the 3rd base side...Atlanta braves sits on the 3rd base side...the Baltimore orioles sit on that side among a few others that im not thing of at this time
