Heck no! If anything i can't stand is people talking on their cell phones in stores and restaurants. The thing is they are so preoccupied with their conversations that they fail to look where they are walking often resulting into a head on colloision with their shopping carts and so on. Also I am not interested in hearing their conversations. Some talk so loud as if they want the entire world to hear what they have to say.

I think it is alright to talk on a cell in a grocery store, as long as you are respectful of others around you. (I believe if you are going to fight with someone on the phone, you should do it in the privacy of your own home.) I think it is OK to use at dress stores, shoe stores;etc.
There are some places a cell phone should not be used. It should not be used in a bookstore. I've always felt that a bookstore is like a library. You should respect those around you and be quiet because people are reading. The cell should be turned off or to buzz. You should answer it outside the building.

I always do. I don't talk on it when I;m going through a check-out line or working with someone in the store, but otherwise I do. I don't have a lot of extra time to make phone calls, so I have to take every chance I get to catch up with all my missed calls while I'm at school!!

It depends I work in a store and find people walking a round talking on them and that's fine but when they get to the counter I think it's arrogant to talk on the phone while been served and people do this alot and you try to ask them questions or count back there change or tell them how much there purchase is and they are to wrapped in their call that you wait till they finish and other customers get angry. We are not aloud cellphones in the store while we are working so I think people need to be more considerate and less arrogant

yes, or else the guys who goes to a grocery store for the first time would be lost. cell phones should not used by a driver though, unless if it's hands-free. but it should not be used when being served by a worker, cause that's just rude!

Personally I feel that they should not be used in a store. Everyone has the capability of putting their phone on a vibration or silent mode, which gives them enough time to leave the store, have the conversation where it is not disruptive to others, and then return to shopping. I think it is annoying and disrespectful of others.

Depends. What is the content of the conversation is it appropriate if it is overheard but all ages? What is the volume of the conversation? Are you impeding on other people who are trying to shop (holding up lines, blocking isle ways, etc)?
In general I think that public use is why people have cell phones. They want to be able to talk to people no matter where they are. Just be concious and respectful of the people around you.

Why not? Some stores have policies against it, like upscale fancy stores and some restaurants. But the world is changing and people like to talk everywhere. I call my hubby on the phone when i'm not sure what to buy or what we need at the store.

No, I do not. These rude cell phone users, need to take a course on cell phone etiquette, and every state should make it illegal to use cell phones while driving.

yes, however, i don't think they should be used when at the counter being rung up. i work retail and it's just rude when someone on a cell comes up to the counter and i don't know if they are talking to me or the person on the phone. they also tend to tell me to be quiet b/c they're on the phone.
