i keep hearing that an argentinian player or players tested positive for steroids and that fifa is considering to send mexico to the quarter final against germany. of course there is nothing on the fifa website about this issue but i asure you that the rumor is off and running. i would love some feedback if anyone has heard about this or if they have any further information. thanks.

No way, we are 2 days away from the match. This is a rumor, and nothing more. FIFA punishes the players and fines the teams for doping charges, not take matches away.

teams are never penalised for individual misdemeanours like that. If true, the player will probably be suspended for a long time. If this was a key player(s) then it will handicap them against Germany anyhow so the team will be penalised in that way.

It's a mexican pipe dream. They hate admitting they got outplayed. You should have heard the stink after we beat them in Columbus last year, the coach made some bright comment about how his mother, grandmother and great-grandmother could beat our team (which course means he got outcoached by a team that couldn't beat 3 old women). So no dice.

I doubt it. If a player test positive, then he is expelled. I really can't see FIFA throwing the whole team out.I think this is wishful thinking by frustrated Mexican fans.

No truth here.

This article states that there have been no doping offenses

And this article states that only individuals would be punished, not the entire Argentinian team.
