Friends I think, it's the episode where Joey says he's not wearing underwear and has to put on a rented tux. He says, I don't want to go commando in another man's fatigues.

I first heard it on Seinfeld when Kramer decided to "go commando." Friends copied it.

underwear gets all hot and sticky in jungle warzones so soldiers(commandos) run around underwearless.

actually, i dont know. it just sounded right.
