This from the Associated Press an hour ago.

Quote.
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Eleven Sunni insurgent groups have offered an immediate halt to all attacks - including those on American troops - if the United States agrees to withdraw foreign forces from Iraq in two years, insurgent and government officials told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
Unquote.

If they are sincere, is this the opening of a dialogue with the U.S.?

Are these groups getting their butts kicked and making this offer to save face?

Are they using U.S. public opinion and the Democrat's call for withdrawl to get the U.S. out of Iraq so they can get back in power.

What do you think?

This is the first I've heard of this. Two years is still a long time for the troops to be there, but without fighting? That's very interesting, and it probably won't happen. If the "insurgents" are talking to the Iraqi government, who is then relaying the information to the US, that's even more interesting.

It will be worth watching this unfold since Bush refuses to sit down and talk with terrorists while the left has always been for negotiating with them. Quite interesting.

What do you imagine of the Iraqi insurgents furnish to end attacks? (I requested this question 2 hours in the past) that's easily type of humorous. They did an same component to us in Karbala very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days... AFTER it grew to change into obtrusive that the bottom there become going away, the close by s**t disturbers all started yelling VERY LOUDLY that the "U.S. ought to bypass"!!!... then those same people would stand on the rooftops yelling about how THEY were in charge for operating off the persons. anybody who watches the records (Fox or CNN) can see that we are lowering our presence as we planned on doing all alongside and slowly replacing our troops (and coalition troops) with Iraqis... because it will be. Now you've the enemy providing "an olive branch" of kinds "IF" we go away in 2 yrs.... the international can evidently see we would have withdrawn maximum folk of our troops in that era of time.

Probably not, but we can't stay there forever. I say we get their army & police going and get out. They've been killing each other since the stone age, so let them at it.
