The have aproduct called Provent-a-mite. It is awesome! I run a rescue and use it all the time since i get a lot of animals that are infested. Read the instructions before using it. Also they have a topical spray you can use. But you MUST disenfect the cage first and everything in it. It take a couple applications but it will work. The mites lay their eggs outside of the cage and after they hatch they find the nearest reptile. I think the average life cycle is 30-45 days and they hatch after two weeks. Try herpsupply.com they are the cheapest I think for the provent-a-mite.

There is a little block of insecticide, timed-release, that you simply lay on top of his cage for a couple of days. I can't remember what it is called, but the pet stores near you should carry it, or know where to get it.
Make sure you remove the water dish, and don't feed the snake/s until you have removed the insecticide and completely cleaned the cage. The insecticide won't hurt your snakes unless they ingest it. Then it can kill them. Don't feed them either, until you've cleaned the cage. Repeat these steps in a few weeks, to make sure that you get them all. Unless they have a new, more effective product for this, it doesn't kill eggs. Just larvea and adults.
If you repeat the process in two weeks, you will get the larvae before they become old enough to lay more eggs.
Good luck. Mites aren't easy to get rid of. Even if you go to the vet.

There are two common products out there to help kill mites: Provent-a-mite and Reptile Relief. Provent-a-mite (PAM) is used on the cage and cage furniture. You spray down everything and let it dry completely before returning your snake. Reptile Relief is used on the snake itself and is a mild insecticide that will kill the mites, but won't harm the snake.
A couple of home remedies include cleaning the cage and cage furniture with a bleach solution, soaking the snake in water with a small amount of liquid dish detergent for about 20 minutes, and rubbing the snake with vegetable oil that will suffocate the mites.

I rescued a red tail boa, he was covered with mites.
You need to let them soak in water for about a half an hour, go to your local pet store and buy a bottle of mite spray. Read the directions carefully. Do not get this in their eyes. Also keep the cage very clean.
If that does not work contact a vet.

Soak him in a bowl with warm water that he can't get out of , let his head be visible out of the water so he can breath. Let him soak for about 20 -30 min.
