the same way some one types on a keyboard without looking. you don't have to see a piano to know which keys to hit. all piano players and other musicians don't have to look at there instrument to play. think of guitar players that sing, they don't stare at there guitar to know which string to pick. maybe your wondering how he learned how to play? It's not uncommon for people to "play by ear" that's where they don't read the music , but hear the musical notes. how does he know when he hits the wrong one, he hears it, like a typist see's it on his screen. Ray Charles isn't famous for being a blind man that plays a piano. Rather he is famous for the great music that he plays, and just happens to be blind. hope this answered your question

The way Stevie Wonder could play - they're both blind & not deaf!
The good piano/keyboard players don't look at the keys when they play and so once you know where the keys are you can play with or with out sight. The next problem is reading music. This can be solved with brail but guys like SW & RC can't stop to feel their way to teh next verse and so need to memorise what they need to play.
Also, both guys had a good ear for music - helps!

Pretty much the same way people without brains ask these type of questions.
Drakestone is not the only person on the planet that has heard the oldest joke on the planet.

He started to learn before he went blind .. and then it's also said that when you lose one of your senses the others are heightened ... so I'm sure you have a wonderful ear and touch ...

Ray Charles had soul, that's what you need to play his stuff not eyes. Although eyes help too.

i used to play piano - you don't need to look at where your fingers are - just like typing if you are practiced at it - besides middle C is easy to find and that's the starting point on the piano
