Try reminding them that George Bush, Michael Brown, and all the other dips**ts in Washington who didn't do their jobs are all Republicans.

Nagin should be faulted for inexperience. He made some mistakes but being democrat had nothing to do with it. A lot of bad things happened in Katrina and most of it was out of his control. It was not his fault the gangs went out of control and started attacking the rescuers. It was not his fault that 200 police ran from the city.
In fact if I remember right he ran on a clean up the police force campaign. Had Katrina happened this year or next it could have been a different story.
I blame the governor down there more than anyone because she took 24 hours to respond to Bush for help because she was concerned how excepting help from a republican would be perceived. She directly caused a delay that was needless in my opinion. She put politics above lives.

People are going to blame who they want because it suits them. The thing to remember here is Hurricane Katrina was a terrible event but the citizens were warned and the local governement should have had better plans for situations like this. The state governement should also have had "what if" situations planned out. The federal government is here for back up not to do the jobs of the local and federal governments. I live in Oklahoma and we know there is a risk of tornados. Our city and state governments have plans in place before hand just in case something does happen. It has nothing to do with democrat or repbublican. It has to do with have better plans at all levels from you the citizen all the way up to the feds. No one person is to blame.

I stay in a supburb of latest Orleans referred to as Metairie. If the levee had broken on the different part of the canal, i might have been flooded completly. I have been given fortunate. formally, it rather is the duty of the persons to get out of how of a hurricane. Is it the duty of the government to get autos out of how of the rushing trains? the government can and can purely do what it may to guard its people. Now that being pronounced, it advance into the Corps of Engineers who have been thoroughly responsible for St. Bernard flooding. The MRGO advance into, is, and may be the only explanation for that parish being destroyed. it rather is a very unneeded waterway the corp built and is now going to be closed on the taxpayer's rate. As for the destruction of latest Orleans, no it advance into no longer each and all the hurricane's fault. It advance into returned the Corps of Engineers, New Orleans Levee Board, and the present and previous mayors of latest Orleans. The corps built levees alongside canals, yet used lesser substances to do the pastime and did no longer shop on with the strategies of the 0.33 party engineers. The Levee Board grew to become a politically appointed pastime that no person listened to. they might locate issues interior the levees and record them to the corps, yet neither ought to repair the subject concerns without the mayors spending the money to accomplish that or paying for the money from the feds to repair the subject concerns. It advance right into a fiasco. And as for why New Orleans advance into so impoverished, I even have pronounced that until now. It advance into the White Flight that began below the Moon Landrieu administration and the criminal activities of the administrations in view that. isn't Marc Morial being investigated now in Washington D. C.?

Look. the Mayor nor the Governor did their job right as the people elected them to do.it's that simple....starting with using all of those buses..........
being a democrat or republican had nothing to do with it.........
doing a job, and doing it right would have meant many more lives saved...maybe they should feel guilty for that....they both blamed the government for it all......You are supposed to call in the governmen when you have exhausted all of your resources and you still need help....When they called in the government, everyone, including nagin expected them there the next day.....
not giving them time to get supplies together and to get manpower and resources together, and that is when they started blaming the government to get people away from their negligence
that killed many...The Mayor and Governor will go down in history as reasons for many lives lost that could have been saved. The world knows who was at fault here.

Why do you think that you should have the ultimate responsibility for defending the Mayor of New Orleans. The mayor makes one of a kind statements that make no sense whatsoever. I'd not defend him even though he is a democrat and I'd not defend him if he were a republican. He should change his thinking about the race if he wants people to defend him.

No one can be blamed for Hurricane Katrina because it was an act of nature.
I don't believe Mayor Nagin should be faulted for his poor decision making because he's a Democrat. He should be faulted for his poor decision making because he's inept, and would rather shift blame to others rather than take personal responsibility for the lack of preparation of the city that elected him as its leader.

It probably doesn't matter because people who are going to think like that aren't going to see reason. It seems to me there's more than enough bureacratic blame to go around. The city, state, and federal government all failed the people of New Orleans.

Tell them that the fact that he is a democrat has nothing to do with his poor decision making and to not judge all democrats that way.
