ING Direct is awesome and great rates. Very simple to sign up and use. Only down fall is that the transaction period of moving money can take a day or two. But definitely would recommend ING. 4.25% rate is better that the usual 0.25%

All the above mentioned are definetly high quality institutions. Something to consider though is if you want to have quick access to the funds, or if you have can access them at a branch near you. Wamu also has a 5% online account, and you can access it at any branch location. I believe HSBC you can't do that, and I'm not sure about ING. But if you are the type of person who doesn't want easy access or you'll spend it, then HSBC or ING might be better. Depending on the amount also may sway where you want to be. 4.5% to 5% won't be but pennies every year on $1000, but on $100,000 your talking a $500 difference over the year. I've hear Emmigrant Direct is also good, but I don't know if that is true personally. Just some things to think about it.

www.citibankonline.com. Go to the e-savings account. It pays 5% currently, and if you want your money, go to a local branch and with draw it instantly. you can also get an ATM card with it. Also, it can come with a checking account.
No fee to set up and you can withdraw your money at any time.
Most online savings accounts like ING direct, Paypal, etc., take up to 2 days to transfer your money into your bank's checking account.
With the Citi e-savings account you can write checks on it at any time.

Try going to the website: bankrate.com
It is a very well known resource for researching what institution is offering the best rates and it's updated daily.
Citibank is doing alot of promotional advertising right now also for e-savings accounts at 5.0% interest. A month ago it was at 5.60%.

WWW.GMACBANK.COM
FDIC Insured. Great service. Savings account includes;
Free Checks & ATM Card (up to $6.00 per month in ATM fees are reimbursed, from other banks... at end of month).
Current APY: 4.80%.
I love ING, but GMAC bank wins on services and rates!
=========================================
Interest checking accounts (3.01%), we use EverBank.com. They also reimburse ATM use (from other banks ATM's).

I think Emigrant Direct's American Dream Savings Account is the best. Interest is 4.80% and no fee, no minimums. It takes 2 days to be posted your deposit. And can not withdraw in 10 business days. It is very easy to transfer your money from and to your bank's checking account. you can do that 24hours/7 days.My bank's checking account pays 0.5% interest and money market's interest is 0.9%.What a difference!!!
