get teams get players from brazil or europe like barbosa or nowitzky in the draft or do they sign them as free agents also anyone think the rest of the world is catching up with the us in basketball

i think they should just send the nba champion from that year to the olympics instead of gathering of people who have never played together

Yes it does. In fact there's an Italian player who may go number one. Plus remember Darko in the draft with LeBron, Wade, Carmello.

Yes, just look at one of the top prospects probably to be drafted..Andrea Bargnani. He plays for an Italian team. Usually though, NBA teams that draft international players have to wait a year or so because of contracts with their existing teams. Or, they can buy out the contract with the team's permission right after the draft.

International players are treated like any draft pick from college or highschool. I think other countries are catching up skill wise but, I think Americans are still the best basketball players. The teams of "superstars" we have been sending to the olympics aren't doing us justice. They are too much of individuals

techinically yes but nowitski was the first to ever enter the drarft that did not play college ball.
