Yes, I have a 2004 Honda Civic. In December I'll be buying my 3rd Honda Civic.
The LX is a good trim, the EX is better... the only superficial difference is that the EX has a moon roof.
The gas mileage is fantastic and if you take care of it, your Honda will last a really long time.
Some say that the seats are a bit uncomfortable, but they work fine for me. If you're concerned about that, you can buy carseat cushions for cheap at Walmart.
Hold out for the 2006 Honda Civic, the body style is better and the interior has more features.

On the whole, especially with the modern ones, if you maintain them well and perform all the required repairs, Honda Civics are incredibly good, reliable cars. I have a great admiration of Honda.

I have had 3 civics, 2 del sols, now I have an S2000 and I would never change from Honda. Not 1 vtec engine has EVER been returned to Honda! if it has then it was because the owners didnt service theyre cars.

No, these cars are a joke. People will ask you if you modified it and it become a problem. Transmissions are weak, engines under powered, and not much for safety in a wreck. Stay away from Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, and Nissan. They have problems.
Listen to these.
Acura= Asia's Curse Upon Rural America
Honda= Had One, Never Did Again
Toyota= The One You Ought To Avoid
Subaru= Screwed Up Beyond All Repair Usually
Buy American or European cars, safe, reliable, and just plain better.

My husband has hauled new cars for 27 yrs. Honda Civics are one of the best cars on the market today. My mother just purchased a 2007 Honda Fit. Side curtain air bags in front and back, besides the airbag on the wheel and on the bottom sides and passenger side. Great gas milleage and one of the safest cars on the market.

Historically, the Honda Civic has an outstanding reputation for low operating costs and reliability. Check out Edmund's or Consumer Reports' online archives for past model reviews.

HELL YES. I bought a brand new '92 Civic, and for 14 years, it's kicked ***. It's been totally dependable & reliable, I haven't had to put much money into it, and it's great for city driving. In fact, in all those years there was only one time where it just didn't work, and I had to bring it into the shop to get it fixed, and that was about 12 years into its life. I just may get another one!
Oh, and the chicks dig it!

Yes. You need to keep up with the maintenance, and make sure you have the oil changed regularly...
Of course, if you want to just customize it and drive it like you're trying for the pole position at Nascar...then it probably isn't going to be all that reliable.
