text messaging is called SMS on your BlackBerry. Go to a contact, click the scroll wheel and it should be an option in the menu.

Blackberry can do SMS text, PIN messages, emial... all sorts of things

yeah a blackberry has a built in keyboard meant for texting ultra fast... please dont buy it.
