At what age did you get your first period.?

I was 13 and I was pissed off. LOL. But I remember one of my friends started her in 3rd grade. What determines when you will start it?

your genes determin when you will start. I was one of the first in my class and I was actually ashamed to tell anyone...even my mom. No one had ever told me what or when to expect it! I remember I was at a Girl Scouts meeting and was changing out of my school uniform.
All moms out there need to have "the talk" with their daughters around the 3rd or 4th grade!

i got mine when i was a little older than 17. and even then i only got it because i was on medication. i never had enough body fat during high school to have a period. so they put me on medication so that i could build muscle to maintain a normal body weight. i also went to nationals in running and track. i went to ballet school. and went to states for gymnastics. i was on the state 1st softball team. when you are that athletic than you have got a reason not to have a period. i had less than 6% body fat. so that was normal. but i would wait until you are about 16 or 17 to start really worrying. it is not a big deal. a lot of girls that are not athletic don't start until they are like 16. don't worry. but if that doesn't satisfy you than you can call the doctor and ask him/ her over the phone ar you can go to the gynecologist. good luck with that.
