Because the average US citizen is not very educated on world affairs, geography, global economics, history before Columbus and are not seen to be very cultured (appreciating food, art, music that is beyond McDonald's, pop / rap / rock and Hollywood movies).

Let's face it -- we know our headlines here, and aside from the war they have very little to do with economics, politics, social issues in other countries (unless you watch CNN and even there there is less and less about the world beyond New York, DC and Los Angeles...)

The world hates that it is this young, uncultured/uneducated/uncaring country that has such power and influence over the fate of the other countries.

I can answer that one for you!!! When 9/11 occurred, I lived in France. Everybody was ready to help you in your battle against the ******* SOB that did that. But then Mr. Bush (who has very little diplomatic tact, as the rest of the world knows but americans seem to be oblivious to this fact) decided that he would use this world backing to serve other purposes (namely the War in Iraq which is actually not officialy a war). But the world was not dupe and when the US went their anyway, the rest of the world was very mad that America, the peace-keeper was disrupting world peace for unproved reasons. Then America decided to call the nations that chose not to follow them into what is now known as the suicide-warm unpatriotic (anti-frenchness being very strong in 2003).
That is why the world hates you. Sorry.

Everyone thinks we are stuck up. Such as we use Farenheit instead of Celsius..and like the whole other half of the world uses Celsius. The biggest reason is jealousy though. Everyone wants freedom just like we do. That is why we should all be thankful for being here.

I do not think that what you called world really hates the USA

Just for your info... The 50% of what you called "the world" economically depends from the USA economy and investments...

Difficult to believe if this is the reason they hate or not the country...

How much time do you have...it would take all day to list the reasons! How much space is provided here for answers, it could become a book!

Arrogant,They seem to think their way is the only way,They want the world to all be like us! They are so blinded by their own dream they cannot see they have literally destroyed this earth, all in the name of progress!I say leave each country to their own beliefs and we should stay in our own land and take care of the problems here before we try to liberate other countries

Misplaced envy. I say misplaced because I know of few nations or cultures that don't deserve to feel pride in who they are and where they come from. But all nations have one of two things, resources or a stable government. Most of Europe have stable governments but few resources. Most of African, on the other hand, have lots of resources but corrupt governments. The US alone has both. That puts us in a very enviable position, since we are able to more fully utilize our resources. But Japan competes with us vigorously, in spite of her lack of resources. So does Europe, on occasion, but more often than not, they choose to whine about us. Europe should learn from Japan (and North Korea)

Third world nations have rulers who horde or waste the resource and deprive their people of a future. The solution has always been to somehow blame America for the problem rather than acknowledging that greedy despots make for oppressed people.

One basic rule of reality is that it's not always bad when something good happens to someone else. That concept seems lost on much of the world.

We disregard the rest of the world's opinions when making decisions with international implications. We invade countries when the rest of the world thinks we shouldn't, we pull out of international environmental treaties, we send controversial and undiplomatic representatives to the United Nations and publicly bash the UN, and the entire time we act very self-righteous about our actions.

This is all the fault of President Bush and his administration. He is one of the worst foreign policy leaders ever.

Because most other countries have the belief that Americans are all prideful and think that the deserve everything. What they don't take into consideration is that every country has some people with the same attitudes. I guess people prefer to take the ignorant route and stereotype than to actually realize that not all Americans are the same.

What's the biggest reason the rest of the world hates the USA? Simple. " Israel ". If the U.S. were to abandon that shitty little country and let it fend for itself, we'd have no enemies.
