I'm looking for a college in either New York State, Vermont, or Massachusetts, (or that general area) that is a great small college, not one that's tremendously big, but one with a sense of community. I want to go to college that's near nature and trees, but want to be near places with things to do, like movie theatres and shops and coffeehouses, etc. I want to be near nature, but not in the middle of nowhere either. Also, I want a good school, with equally intellectual people, and not just all "partyers", etc. Any suggestions?!?! Pleaseeeee help.

If Virginia is close enough, research James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Great school in a small city. Near mountains and skiing, hiking, and plenty to do. Food service is rated #6 in the nation.
