if you are talking about runway models --- no... kate moss is an exception at 5'7" tall. Designers make haute coutour clothes for tall women -- they fall better on tall lanky figures. However - there are MANY other types of models other than just runway fashion models... and I am pretty sure if you are not modeling on a runway, you don't have to be extraordinarily tall.

The shortest model I know of is Kate Moss and she's 5'7 but anything is possible.
The shortest a runway model can be is 5'8 just because they must look exceptional in the clothes they model.
The average height of a model is between 5'9 and 5'10.
I've always wanted to be a model but I'm 5'7 and I've been told twice that I am too short!

Johnny Depp is 5' 9" something, and he could definatly be a model. That's not 5'4" but hes still short, and super sexy!!!
