I wanted to know if dsl internet providers continue to expand their networks because if they dont I'll have to pay around $60 a month for high-speed internet.

Cable's better and faster anyway. Find out if your Cable Company has high-speed internet...

Is cable an option where you live? If so, you should check into that. It's just as fast as dsl and most cable companies have bundles (so together cable and internet are cheaper than if you were getting them separate) A lot of companies also have digital phone service too.

If neither of those are available and you don't wanna hassle with dial-up you could check into satellite. I don't know much about it, but it's an option.

well. they're expanding because the market for them is growing, but at this time if there is not DSL in your area you have only this choices:

satellite (Directpc)
wireless cellular (Verizon, Sprint)
cable

I have the same problem here.....We can either have dial up....which is cheap, or pay $80 a month for satellite internet. Its a really crappy deal.
