Because they don't want a commitment or to be expected to go to the next level if they are clearly not ready for that.

because they dont want to do something to have the other person not like them they are not sure how to act so they will pull away in order of not having the other person se ehow they might really feel when they are unsure them selves

either they ahave committment issues or........they were in a relationship before and have been hurt... once u give someone ur heart and they break it its hard to trust and give another ur heart.. no one wants to b hurt.. but love is worth the risk.. be patient with them
