Ok... there are a few of you who makes me want to attack you if I ever see you walking down a dark alley. Lucky for you, that is pretty much impossible. I'm not even going to speak on the blatant racism... but I will say that Africa is not one big safari (by the way, thats how you spell it). They have cities, they have buildings, they have schools, they have churches, they have business, etc. Not everything in Africa looks like a page out of national geographic. You make me want to throw a book at you (Nadine).
Now on to the question... there may eventually be one (or another one since there was one from Botswana in '99). But, unfortunately with the way society looks at beauty I don't think it would be anything that happens frequently. I could go on and on about it... but obviously being a black woman, I may be a little biased.

In 1999 Miss Universe was from Botswana Africa & in 2001 Miss World was from Nigeria Africa. They have more winners in last 10 years than the UK.
Check their websites for pictures. This year's in Miss Universe is beautiful too.

There have been 3 since 1978 and hardly any are Asia and well Europe is a broad land.

I don't see why not - after all there are top models like Iman and Alek Wek who are African.
Mind you, Miss World is all a bit un-PC now - girlies prancing around in bikini's talking about saving the world, so perhaps African women are being a bit smarter and spending their time on something more worthwhile....

Why does everything have to come down to racism. I hardly doubt that a girl from Africa will never win because of her race, maybe she didn't deserve it, maybe girls in Europe and Asia work harder for the title...it's probably not because she's African.

There ain't never been a Miss USA from Alabama's lustrous Arab either. They jist pick them city girls and I ain't so shure there if there was even cities in Africa. They are all Sufaree over there so they mite not have no padjints.

It all goes by standard of beauty. At some point we can imagine these standards will evolve toward in such a direction and will result in a African beauty being elected.

Yeah. What's up with that? They always end up in the top 10 or 5, but never win.

beauty contests are SO superficial. Any way, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
