Since before recorded history, people have struggled to make sense of their world. When the could not, the ambiguity caused them stress. So, in order to explain what they could not understand, they created a deity or deities.

- Before we understood the motions of the stars and planets, people used god stories to explain why the sun rises every day and planets follow predictable paths in the sky.

- Fast-forward a few thousand years and we have people unable to comprehend the complexity of the universe, and so, rather than accepting that for now some things are unknowable, they do what cavemen did: explain it away as god. "Intelligent design" is no more advanced a belief than our caveman ancestors thinking that thunder and lightning was an angry deity. Both are intellecutally bankrupt beliefs.

It makes them feel safer to think there is something bigger that can carry the world through a disaster. It also gives people hope when a loved one is dying, sick, or has died. God is someone to talk/pray to, and he won't tell anyone what you say. I personally don't believe in God, but i think this is why some people do.

People believe in God because he is real. He will never die. Maybe because he done things in there life. He has done something for everybody in the world. The bible says that he is real and I believe it.
