I'm from Argentina, and I always discuss with people here about things we have made wrong in the past.
The biggest mistake was that short but stupid war in the Malvinas/Falklands. That was just an excuse of the Government of those days to justify all the money they robbed and to put ignorant people on their side.
Second thing many English people always remember is that goal of Maradona.
This second thing is not that serious, but I regret of that too, since Argentina didn't need to do that to win in my opinion.
I just hope some day both countries will be friends again as they were 100 years ago, when they were really close partners.

I think that the vast majority of Britons have forgiven Argentina (and Argentinians) many years ago. We recognise that Argentinians suffered far more from the junta than we did. We love Pumas rugby team. We envy the polo ponies. We chuckle at the welsh tea rooms.
A few fools pretend that there is bad feeling. Those same fools think that all Germans are Nazis. Such idiocy is a disgrace to all civilized people.
On the other hand (!) we can never forgive Maradona :-)

The United Kingdom has been in many wars, over the course, of its long history. America did more to harm British interests, than anyone else, except maybe Germany. In both of these cases, England is friendly with both countries.
The fact that, Argentine president, Nestor Kirchner, has vowed that the islands will one day be part of Argentina, is certainly not helping matters. Lastly, Argentina needs to distance itself from Venezuelan President Chavez, if it wants free countries, to respect it in any way. Chavez is walking a dangerous path, and may find himself, and his country, in the sights of NATOs wrath.
Hope this helps.

Short/stupid the war may have been but it's still fresh in the British people's memories of all the people who died needlessly. I don't think most give a damn about a coked up footballer but as long as veterans/survivors of the Falklands war are about forgiveness may be harder to give out.....

Hey, the U.S. forgave England for burning down our original White House, so I guess England can forgive Argentina for trying to grab some semi-desolate islands.
