Sorry sweetie, but they will hurt about 3 days each time they are tightened. I drank A LOT of slushies!!! The cold seems to dull the pain for a while. Ibuprophen is great also. After the first day or so, try pudding, jello, soup, mashed potatos w/gravy -- stuff that does not require much chewing. Hang in there - It will all be worth it in the end.

first of all I'm sorry you had 2 get braces!!
I have them and it hurts the first few days, then after that it stops hurting and you get them tightened and it hurts all over again! When I got mine on(I think it was in November) I basically lived on soup, mashed potatoes, and tea, ice cream, and milkshakes...and the pain is better if you take ibuprofen(or tylenol) around 30 minutes before you eat...

Once you start getting them tightened, try chewing a piece of Orbit gum as soon as you leave the dentist, it helps them not hurt as much!

I got my braces on 6 months ago. And belive me, I know how much it hurts. It hurts for about a week. For that week, I lived off of smoothies, french fries, and soup. Keva Juice is the best and it is healthy for you. Try It! Good Luck!

Yeah, your teeth will hurt for a while, especially when you go in to get them tightened.

Take some painkillers and start out with softer things. Pears are good, and soup and pasta work well too.

That's gonna last a few days, take some tylenol or motrin and you'll be okay.
Everytime you go to get them tightened, the feeling will come back, after a while, you just get used to it.

Yeah, it will hurt for awhile. Like others have said, eat soft foods for awhile & build up slowly. When they are tightened the pain will probably come back again.
