I'm not exactly sure. I'm of African descent and I enjoy all kinds of music, including country. The story in some of the songs are absolutely beautiful. The only genres I can honestly say I don't enjoy are rap and some very hard rock. Music is for everyone, I don't really think it's specific to any one race. But, like many other culturally popular genres, country is dominated by caucasian musicians. That may be why. :)

Because the roots of country music are in the English and Celtic musical traditions brought to North America by the ancestors of the majority of white folks here. And BTW, don't write off country just because you don't like the ultra-commercial cr*p. Google "alt country" and check out some underground singers and bands.

anyway country is good music b/c for one u can actually understand what they're saying. anyway i like country music alot and im not white so ur question is kinda ignorant IMO

I HATE COUNTRY MUSIC.. hate it.. hate it.. hate it. As a matter of fact.. Shania Twain was in my office a couple of years ago.. not only did I not care.. I didn't even leave my desk to go see her.. I didn't care about getting my picture taken with her.. nuttin'! I despise country music... IT IS NOT PERMITTED IN MY HOME OR ON MY CAR STEREO under penalty of death!

As with many things of personal taste its a matter of what you were exposed to when you were growing up. In some cases this causes people to accept what they grew up listening to and in others it drives them away. But it's all a matter of what you learn to enjoy as your growing.

im sure black people like it too, and asian people, and hispanic people, and canadians....
maybe because many people who listen to country are from the south and many of those people just happen to be white...
