Reading in magazines etc it appears to be on the increase, but I thought I'd ask some real people.
Just incase my Yahoo ID (not my answers name) doesn't give it away, I do, & have done so for about 15 years - It started out of consideration for my then-gf. I liked her smooth - We all know there's nothing nastier than a mouthful of hair when you go down!
I figured it would be nice to show her the same courtesy. She loved it, and I've kept it maintained for most of the time since.

Well I think it is okay but once you start shaving anywhere on your body you have to keep repeating the process. On your face for instance you have to keep it shaved off or you will grow a beard. If you shave around your genital area can you imagine how long the hair would get if you just let it go for a week or so.

I shaved down there twice in my life..once when i was 11. I got my first razor ad thought it would be cool..then the 3 week itching started.
The other time was last year and i then thought it was cool too..until I remembered the immense itching.

I shaved down there once, and I felt neutered. From my experience I'd say not many. Our hair is our manhood. Thats how most guys see it.

I don't shave it bald, but I shave with my clippers ever month or so when I shave my (upper) head.
