Megadeth!!! Considering early Metallica was Dave Mustaine and that is what broke them through. First 2 albums have songs credited to Dave Mustaine. That should answer the question right there. Plus new Metallica sucks really, really bad that should be your second answer. Plus Megadeth's music is more in depth and a lot more difficult to play. Dave Mustaine is a much better musician than anybody in Metallica.

Metallica and Hetfield, especially anything from "Ride The Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" or if you like the songs on the radio, the Black album.

Plus you can never really be sure when Megadeth will disband (and then probably return) again.

I used to like Metallica as a band between Kill em All and The Black Album... Now with St Anger out, they just plainly suck man. So I would say I like Megadeth as a band. Between Dave and James, I would say James as rhythm guitar player and Lead Vocals because of his muscular guitar tone and riffing style and a voice made for thrash metal (Kill em All up to ...And Justice for All). Dave is a good rhythm guitar player too and I emulate his spider technique in my rhythm playing but I don't really like his whining voice. He makes it up for his guitar skills. It's a draw between Dave and James... they are both influential in my guitar playing. If Cliff Burton was still alive, Metallica won't suck and wont put out an album like St Anger. Burton is my ultimate influence.

As a band try Shadows Fall (US) or In Flames (SWE). I am a Gothenburg sound fan. They are great.

There's a reason Metallica went to crap after they ran out of songs written by Dave. Megadeth wins, no contest.

Metallica. Dave whines like a little girl about how everyone wronged him. Get over it already!

Neither...Iron Maiden owns those 2!

. Virus

[Harris/Gers/Murray/Bayley]

There's an evil virus that's threatening mankind
Not state of the art, a serious state of the mind
The muggers, the backstabbers, the two faced elite
A menace to society, a social disease

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Watching beginnings of social decay
Gloating or sneering at life's disarrey
Eating away at your own self esteem
Pouncing on every word that you might be saying

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Superficially smiling a shake of the hand
As soon as the back is turned treachery is planned

Rape of the mind is a social disorder
The cynics, the apathy oneupmanship order

Watching beginnings of social decay
Gloating or sneering...at life's disarrey

When every good thing's laid to waste
By all the jealuosy and hate
By all the acid wit and rapier lies

And every time you think you're safe
And when you go to turn away
You know they're sharpening all their paper knives

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to relate it

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to escape it

Without a conscience they destroy
And that's thing that they enjoy
They're a sickness that's in all our minds

They want to sink the ship and leave
The way they laugh at you and me
You know it happens all the time

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to relate it

All in your mind
All in your head
Try to escape it

The rats in the cellar you know who you are...
Or do you?

Watching beginnings of social decay........
