Would humans work more closely together, or would they all try to suck up to the aliens to gain greater power?

The more powerful among us will try to use these aliens to increase their power for their own personal gain, for the more powerful among us are the most greedy. In the end, the little guy will suffer, as he has done throughout history.

It will seem that we are not content with only destroying our own world, our own civilization, we will attempt (maybe succeed) to take advantage of these space aliens, use them, abuse them, squeeze them like a sponge to extract any information they can.

I may not agree with what they will do, but I defend to the death their right to do so.

For most of the world it would mean no more than if someone discovered a new whale, "That's nice, but I've got my life to live, excuse me while I get back to it." We still have people who believe we haven't been to the moon and that 6 million Jews executed during WWII was a malicious lie. If you made the announcement and laid out the proof, it wouldn't take ten seconds for someone to somewhere say, "I knew it! Bush is one of them sent to skuttle this country, another reason to impeach the b-------." Be prepared, exceptional claims require exceptional proof, just ask the Christians about the grief they catch for tell the world that God has personally came to visit us and teach us a thing or two about how we should live.

The general public would go crazy.
The reason people don't often hear about UFO sightings on the mass media is that it's uncomfortable.
The generalized person tends to think that humans are the only intelligent being in the universe.
Whether it's subconscious or not.

they'd be politicians if you need to make the guidelines that keep the persons at bay. they'd be scientists employing their advanced information to create guns and ailments that could kill off maximum persons of humanity so their takeover will be a lot less difficult they'd be medical doctors so that they could study our weaknesses and keep us in limbo truly than treatment us. Prescribe meds that purely mask the indicators truly than deal with the situation they'd run banks and loan homes that paintings to keep us all in debt and servitude so we lose desire. even as are all purely ill, broke, scared lambs...they are going to take us to slaughter i'm certain there will be some good ones, and they'd likely be those that encourage human beings to be extra, do extra and love extra and not in any respect supply in.

I think it would give people more hope that our lives might actually mean something and that there is possibly a God out there. I think it would be positive for our species. That is, unless the aliens were hostile :-)

Democrats would suck up;
Republicans would start a massive defense build up;
Socialist would want to tax them,
Green Party would want to know the emissions of the mother ship

Republicans would immediately impose some sort of tax on them, require photo ids and require citizenship fees to be paid making sure to get some money. hehe

Democrats would have a big "Welcome To Planet Earth" party where we all got drunk and celebrated more diversity. hehe

Oh yeah, and Congress would immediately begin debating whether or not their marriages/unions would be recognized.

it would probably give politicians something else to debate about and help the election candidate, and then we could wonder about something else
