Wow i actually got this one so i hope i get the vote for best answer.....Goofy is a combo off all the characters. Have you ever looked close? He has Pluto's snout, Mikey's eyes, Chip and Dales teeth.

Goofy is a dog too,and I found that out somehow by playing Kingdom Hearts. He dont look like no dog though.

well you see, goofy is a highly evolved dog with the brain of a chimp and for some odd reason pluto is a pet to a mouse which is kind of weird
