Listening to "Stadium Arcadium", Red Hot Chili Peppers could do justice to classic rock songs.
Fountains Of Wayne proved with "That Thing You Do" soundtrack that they can faithfully recreate the mid 60's rock songs.
Gnarls Barkley would provide some interesting twists covering classic rock songs.

Good Charlotte was to me, more than a little reminiscent of the Beach Boys on tht "Boys & Girls" single.
Weezer also sounded like them on "Buddy Holly". So I'd say both of them.

Well, if you've noticed, "Wolf Mother" kinda sounds like Led Zeppelin, so they could probably cover any Zeppelin song!
