It's been proven that they're black with white stripes; scientists studying their genes have found zebras with genetic differences/mutations that are almost all black with no white stripes, and somehow figured out that the base coat is black. *shrugs* Wish I knew more of the details, it's something I saw on National Geographic awhile back! :P

White with black stripes. Their tummies are white, so I'm going with that.

if you were to count the stripes then the most would be the first word...like if there were 39 black and 35 white it would be black and white..

i think it is white with black just like a calico is white with patches of color or a pinto or a paint horse is white with patches of color
