Many groups that we now call racist and other negative things were started for that very reason. They wanted to remove hate and prejudice. The problem is the fact that the members of the group are people and thus they are imperfect in every way. The imperfection causes problems in enacting the original concepts upon which the group is founded and thus the rgoup heads down the road to racism and prejudice. Any group set on getting rid of prejudice would have to get rid of itself eventually simply because the people within that group would end up being prejudice towards certain types of people or groups of people.

Well, this is difficult on many levels. One, because as someone else said, there is the whole freedom of speech thing. People can be the biggest jerks in the world, but it is within their rights to be ignorant. Now it is only when they ACT uopn that ignorance that it is illegal.
Removing prejudice should not be your goal. Changing the minds of those ignorant people, to tolerate is a better goal. You will NEVER get everyone to accept things that are different, but you can get them to tolerate differences.
I used to participate in a program called Anytown that tried to do just that for teenagers. It's how I met my husband and my friends. Try to find one in your community, it is a nationwide non-profit organization called the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ). Then you will really be doing something about the ignorance in our world.

That sounds a lot like The Boondock Saints.
And I think you're going about it the wrong way. These people crave attention, whether positive or negative, and by responding to them, you're giving them what they want. The only way to make these people go away is to just not answer their questions. Just report, and ignore.

i totally agree with u, why be prejudice when its not helping the world we live in. if u start that group i would love to be in it, even tho it does sound like an oxymoron trying to change people from acting the way they do, but its a change that should be made....

It seems that anymore the socially accepted 'best' way to handle any derogatory situation is just to ignore it but...what does ignoring it do? Ignoring is the easy thing to do. Ignoring something only allows it to grow undisturbed...um hello, Hitler...the U.S. knew what he was doing well before it got as bad as it did but we didn't want to get involved; we wanted to IGNORE it.
Well, I'm with you, I am sick of ignoring things. You want to make a difference...SPEAK UP the next time you are disgusted or outraged by something! Freedom of speech isn't just to protect the ignorant...you too can say whatever you want! Choose your words and change the world!

Well, you are looking at a small segment of the population on this site. I'm sure that a lot of these people are also saying stupid things because this is a forum where they won't have any consequences.

what does rape have to do with differenciality? well that aside i think it wud be bad to have a group try and take care of racism or homophobism. i mean look, we had a group who wanted to promote racism and look what chaos they caused. besides these things give people initiative to succeed in life and they end up bettering our community. lifes not beautiful without the pain. thats my motto ! As far as the rapists kill them if you want to or actually id prefer u kill them

yeah, i agree with you on that one, like people making a joke about dead babies or rape..that makes my blood boil, i think they have to just learn the hard way, most of them are probably rich college kids, spolied little brats who never get in trouble, hiding behind their daddie's wallet. ever seen Taxi Driver? if not go pick it up, Deniro feels the same way as you and i in the movie.
