Anything having to do with 9/11

If that doesn't make you value your moments on earth nothing will.

You didn't reference the age group you are dealing with, however if they are teenage, the movie "Contact" has some great scenes in the middle 1/3 to provoke discussions on faith vs science, which ultimately is your topic.

As far as literally illustrating the value of life, "It's A Wonderful Life" does just about as good a job as anything. An ordinary man, doing ordinary things positively impacts countless numbers of people and events in a positive way. It's a great counter to the facts that some of our most celebrated people were adopted.

Sounds like a fascinating project! Best wishes to you!

Perhaps a scene from the Bulletproof Monk? Or maybe the sequence in the Great Santini where Duvall's character sacrifices himself to save a whole town? Darth Vader turning against the Emperor in ROTJ to protect his son? How about GR44 saving the life of the reporter in Universal Soldier? Or, maybe the scene in Armageddon where Bruce Willis sacrifices himself for all of the Earth.

'To End All Wars' is another good choice as well. It's about a POW camp during WW2, and shows one American in particular's value of life, etc. Very good movie.
