As many as are on bench you start 9 and there are 16 on bench, even though 10 extras are pitchers, you can pinch hit 16 if you want....that would be a record.

as many as you want, like if you have 6 players on your bench then you can have 6 pinch hitters then

depends...on a 25 man roster, you can use 16...with a 40 man roster you can use 31...thats in the NL with the pitcher batting. With the DH you have one extra man playing so the pinch hit limits are 15 and 30 respectfully.

As many as the number of players you have that aren't in the game and haven't been in the game at all. This includes pitchers that haven't thrown at all that game, although they generally aren't good hitters.
