I prefer Norton but avg seem to be a good one my aunt has avg because she said Norton let viruses come through as well as mcafee. its up to you i would try both and then you can choose from there read reviews about them that seems to help.

I used to haver McAfee.

It came with my computer when I bought it, a 90-day trial.

It totally screwed up my computer!!!

I didn't even realize it was McAfee that was causing all the problems, until the free trial ran out and I took all McAfee off my computer---no more problems since.

Try AVG, you can download it for free at download.com

Neither - get AVG - it catches everything and is free. I don't bother with either Norton or Macafee, and have not had any problems with viruses, pop-ups, trojan horses, adware, spyware or any crap like that. If I were you, I'd also get a free copy of Adaware, a free download from Lavasoft - they even let you update free, as does AVG.

Good luck.

I've heard Norton eats up a lot of system resources and slows your computer down.

Norton is better, but it uses too much of your computer's resources, but Mcaffee doesn't work for me(don't know why, don't give an F), so I use Kaspersky(came with system mechanic 6).
