You can put in where you are, what type of pet you want, and how far your willing to go.... And it will give you a list of pets! Then you can call the shelter and see what is currently available.
but yes, there are shelters in Monmouth county that have small animals.... just not avery day, sometimes they don't have any, so its best to call

Guinea pigs take a lot of special care and feeding to keep them healthy. Mine are all over 6 years old. Please study the web below to make sure you want to commit to the care it takes, and make sure you are going to have financial resources for vet care.

don't get a guinea pig!! i had 2 for half a year and we ended up giving them away because they were too hard to take car of. you have to change their litter once a day and that stuff isn't cheap. they eat tons of food and they are sooo messy. it was horrible.
