Have you had any complications? I had mine done June 12th. Bled a week later and now it looks like I am having my period. It was actually surgery.

I had it done two Decembers ago. He burned the cells off my cervix. I think I bled for like two and a half weeks and was told not to have sex for 6 weeks. I still have low grade precancerous cells, but I think if I'd just quit smoking it would finally go away.

Yes, I had it done and it was painless. I am the biggest wuss too. I was nervous as hell and the whole procedure took about 5 minutes...honestly! It was nasty smelling from the lazer burning, but I had no bleeding afterwards and no cramping. I was "supposed" to wait 6 weeks to have sex, but that didn't happen, I only waited 3 weeks. I had some discharge that looked like coffee grounds after about the 1st week, but that too was minimal. I had the surgery done in August of last year, and went in for a follow-up appointment 3 months ago and everything was great. The worse part was that the 1st doctor I went to told me that I needed a complete hysterectomy!! I went for a 2nd opinion thank God! Much less painful and costly. If you have to have one done, don't be nervous it is quick and painless. Good luck with everything!!

Yep, about 10 years ago and I don't think I had to abstain at all, mabye a couple of nights. It didn't come back but honestly so many women have told me they've had this same procedure that I truly believe it's a scam. All they do is freeze some surface cells and scrape them off. Ten years ago they got $1000 per surgery so I can only imagine what they get now so I think they take advantage of the situation and tell almost all their patients that they need the procedure.

I had one a couple of years ago and the procedure itself took less than a half an hour. It wasn't painful but it was uncomfortable. I was extremely uncomfortable for the first day but was back to normal within a few days. I believe my doctor recommended a week before having sex again. I didn't have any other complications until I got pregnant and they watched me to make sure my cervix stayed closed, which it did. Good luck!

I had it done about 4 years ago. I hasn't come back at all. It took about 3-5 days before I felt like myself again. The next cycle was a little more painful, but nothing I couldn't handle. I waited about a week to have sex again. You should be fine now. If you're concerned about anything at all just call your doctor. The nurses can answer all of your questions.
