Honestly, I try my hardest to be Independent and not to blend in with the crowd. I love to play football and play my gutair. Yet at the same time I cook and clean. I have a black belt, I hate having to fight. While the other girls are afraid to go out in the rain because it might mess up their hair, I go mud boging on my four wheeling in pouring rain. But while I dont see the problem with it, other think that i should stick to 'baking and cleaning and caring for my family'. Shoud i listen or keep being myself?

Keep being yourself. If you are doing the things you enjoy, then who cares what anyone else thinks. Besides anyone who still thinks that all girls should do is cook and clean needs to go back to bed and wake up in this century!

There is nothing wrong with being different. It is great to be different sometimes and that is what makes each of us an individual. On the other hand sometimes there are times where you want to be like others to feel like part of the group or to work in harmony on a project. Could you imagine what the world would be like if we were all the same, thought the same way, and did everything the same as everyone else. It would be like a world of robots, and after a while would become boring, since nothing would ever change. I would say: stay as you are and keep being an individual, find where you fit in and join those groups, and be careful that you are not doing things to prove a point or make yourself stand out by being different in ways that can harm you or others around you. Everything you have listed in your question sounds like fun and you are enjoying life to the fullest. Go with it and have fun....

Hey, do the right thing...

- I'm a 16 year old girl and I love Law Enforcement ever since gr.3 but I hid that because it seems like everyone expected something else from me. I'm a natural writer and artist, so, echo? They don't expect me to like Law Enforcement. But I do. You'll feel guilty if you'll give up on yourself.

If you really are the way you claim to be then WOW, you're awesome. It made me laughter when you said (typed) "...girls are afraid to go out in the rain because..." It's really funny. My friends and I are your type. Never care what people say. It's fun being weird and different. It's life, you have to live it to the fullest. And I see these girls standing there with perfect cloths. I bet they want that same fun but...I don't know I can't judge them, they've got a rep to protect. Lol. But I love every second of it.

Having said that, be yourself. People ought to like you the way you are. Don't be what they want, they'll want more. And you'll loose yourself. Do what you think is right.

Good Luck and Stay Safe! - Hidden

i was about to ask you if you want to mud wrestle - but then i remembered the black belt.

hmm, how about making love in the rain - interested (the air smells great, too. nice and fresh) - but I'm afraid you might wanna kick my ba*lls, and try to score a touchdown.

hmm, you wanna just come out and play with me - nah, probably not, bet your more intereested in playing with your guitar. (your probably pretty good at it too - sounds like you are pretty good at whatever you put your mind too )

hmm, wanna go out to dinner - oh, I see - you are probably fairly finacianly established too - so don't need a guy to come along and take care of you.

harumptf!!

hows a guy supposed to get your attention - looks like oyu got everything pretty well covered on your own.

thanks anyway.

seriously - though... a when a guy comes home after a long day hunting tigers, there is nothing more pleasant and refreshing than to come home to the nice warm smell of something cooking to be reminded that someone cares about him.

I think you shouldn't try to be different. Or the same. You should try to be you. Do what you love and what makes you happy.

Personally to me you sound like a kick *** chick with some great interests- karate, guitar, football? Cool! You're probably so down to earth and fun that you're every guys dream girl to hang out with! The other girls are just jealous. Don't worry about them.

This is an easy question.

Of course be yourself!

You will be much happier in the long run if you stay true to who you are and stop worrying about how others look at you... and even if it may seem that people have differing opinions about what you do, they really are probably more concerned with their own image... Trust me, being yourself is a lot better than being who they want you to be.

ALWAYS be yourself. You sound very well rounded to me. I would guess you're probably still in High school (because that's the time when you feel the most pressure to fit into the same mold as everyone else.) It won't be long before you'll realize what a quality it is to be different.

Just be good to yourself and others. Have fun!!! As long as your activities don't hurt anyone... why do you care? You should enjoy life. Most of the people making comments are probably a bit envious and need to find a few more interesting hobbies for themselves... maybe you can help them think of a few.

Be yourself. People tell me I'm weird all the time and I couldn't care less. Being normal is BORING! It's good that you know how to cook and clean, but as long as you take care of your kids (if you have any) it's no one else's business what you do, especially for fun.

Rain just means you don't have to shower! :)

Amber, the best policy is always being yourself. If you fall into a pattern of what others think you should do or who they think they should be you will at some time ask them ok, now what do i do and they will shrug their shoulders becasue they are the same product of not being themselves. If you are yourself you will always know where you are going, what you are doing and best of all why you are doing it. Don't dare to be different, dare to be yourself.
