well yes yes it would be, but you could get cheater slicks they hook up like slicks but have enough trad to make em legal, ps. slicks suck in any weather besides dry

Highway tires have tread, for safety and legal reasons. Slicks are racing accessories, and belong on the racetrack, because racetracks are specially prepared surfaces that usually don't have a lot of junk on em, and they're really smooth etc. Running slicks on the street isn't just illegal, it's a waste of usually very expensive tires...

Yes it would be illegal. You need to get some D.O.T. approved street radials. They are about 97% slicks, but still road legal.
Try Mickey Thompson or B.F. Goodrich
