We squashed it last night. And when we came back this morning it was gone. We heard it crunch and everything. But somehow it is a zombie bug or something. It looked like some sort of beetle with huge wings and an iredescent color. It was also like three inches long (no joke). So if anyone has any clue please help me.

If the antenae were long with several parts, if it was as slender near the head than near the end of its body, it sounds like a member of Cerambycidae family.
They are not harmful to humans, their larvae live inside of tree trunks and adults mainly seek sex and a bigger distribution on the field. I recomend you check wikipedia to find a pic of a speciaes that resembles yours.
Good luck!

It actually may not be a roach. There are certain kinds of african beetles that have migrated to the united states that have an irredecent glow, ranging from the lightest blue to a red. If it is one of these, it is harmless, just creepy as all hell. However, rule of thumb, if you step on it, hear it crunch, FLUSH IT ANYWAY. That would have been the best thing to do.

Maybe it was one of those silverfish bugs, they are pretty hard to kill, but I can't be sure because I don't know what it looked like. Go to lowes and get a spray bottle of Seven, and spray it around all your doors, baseboards, windows etc.... the stuff is under $10.00 and it works!!!

if you're in the south its a palmetto bug...which is a huge roach, as mentioned above, BUT for those people that think all roaches are the kind in the north that come in when people are dirty, palmetto bugs aren't like that, they actually live in trees and are not considered a 'dirty' bug

Sounds like a cockroach or a Junebug. Depends on where in the country you are.

sounds like a June bug, we used to tie a string to them when we were kids and let them fly around. Hard to tell without a picture of it.
