It starts chugging then stalls. This all started after the car overheated because of a bad radiator. Had it replaced then this happened.

Run a diagnostics on the computer.

Then run a diagnostics on the engine.

The computer might not be the problem.

OK... now run the diagnostics test first...

I think that your problem might not be with your computer, but it might be with you alternator or battery, or you might even have a loose wire or cable somewhere that runs current to the computer. It could be the distributor is not dialed in right...

If that's not the problem......then

There may be a short in the wiring harness of the computer to your ride or maybe from your ride to the computer. It would be wise to take a voltage tester and check your wires.

If that don't help....then I don't know what to tell you... GOOD LUCK!!

take it to a reputable mechanic. tell me all the symptoms and what has been done to it to date and if there is a check engine light on. how long will it run before it shuts down. does it die quick or slowly die out.????? times, temperatures (hot cold), tell me exactly what is happening. Jerry, I am an ex mechanic. I read all the other answers. your car does not have a distributor. Please take it too a good mechanic and let them tell you whats wrong with it even if you want to fix it your self. dont spend hundreds of dollars guessing. have someone hook it up to a computer and tell you what codes are wrong with it for 70 bucks. then go do a little research and buy a Hanes manual for $15. then email me Russellp73@gmail.com When is the last time the fuel filter was replacced? Neons are infamous forr ahving bad head gaskets and the overheating did not help. Is it leaking oil on the drivers side rear of the head. do you have tan pudding like goo on the inside of the oil cap? time for a head gasket!!!!

Never buy a Dodge in the future to avoid car problems.

find your local dealership, send em an email, see if they have any advice. If that fails, then email dodge directly...you're probably not the first person it's happened to. Sounds like a loose wire, somewhere...
