Both are very good, but if I had to choose I would say lowtop because they seem more in style these days.

Back in my day (1980's) hightops were the "in" thing. All the punk rockers wore hightops! If they weren't wearing hightops, they were wearing combat boots or checkered Vans.

high top. in my experiance, they have been very comfortable.
several tasteless-but-fun suggestions:
1. wear shorts or capris w/ funky looking socks +the hi-tops
2. crochet your own shoelaces in your favorite color. (don't worry, it's easy to learn to crochet if you don't already know how.)
3. never ever wash them.
4. buy the ugly color nobody else wants. hey, at least you won't have the same color as everyone else!
5. write or draw on them with a permanent marker.
6. [YOUR IDEA HERE]
p.s. it'll never go out of style if it had none to begin with.

hightop.... they look better if you want to wear them with shorts and if you wear pants noone will know if they are high tops or low tops

I prefer lowtop as well...! Its easier to walk in them. (imho)

I've got the high top chuck taylors. But i must say they are not very comfortable!
