I don't think we can call them ghosts. A lot of the things are happening as the result of a program that has been written and set to run by HUMANS. Kind of hard to say that is a ghost.

Actually, I believe what you are referring to is called a "bot." That is, a computer program that acts like a human being on the internet to try to achieve some goal. I have been contacted by bots before while using Yahoo IM. They will open a chat session and try to engage me in conversation of a sexual nature. Eventually they will try to lure me to a pay-for-viewing site. THey haven't succeeded yet.

Most of these bots are no more intelligent than "Eliza," a computer program written in 1966:

If you mean "ghost" in a figurative sense, that is, some computer program acting as a person; I suppose that's possible. Not very likely, though, 'cause advertisers wouldn't want to waste air time on non-consumers.
