I wouldn't end the world in pain but in away that will help people in the next life understand how life was before them.I would end the world with allowing people do one last thing and then I would then take people to peacefull place and then allow them to die being happy.

I wud first turn every other creature which exists or did exist (i.e. now extinct)into creatures wid human like abilities and intelligence , gradually , with the exceptions of humans.I wud then allow the non-human organisms to evolve gradually , and inflict the same slow pain and anguish on the unevolved human creatures. These sufferings inflicted by the non human creatures would be the same as those inflicted by us till date.
this wud be a fitting end to all that was glorius and enchantiting about the human species.

I would create a black hole between the Earth and the Moon. Or maybe a Gamma ray Burst. Something Cosmic, definitly.
